Right to reply
Send your explanation or improvements in writing to the inspecting officer for publication beside the rating. Official guidance
Request a re-rating visit
After accepting the rating and completing the recommended improvements, request a visit in writing with evidence. Ask your council about fees; the rating can rise, fall or stay the same. Official guidance
Appeal
Discuss the rating with the officer first. If you still think it is wrong or unfair, appeal in writing within 21 days of notification, including weekends and public holidays. Official guidance
